Unblock ITV in minutes:

If you want to get started right away, simply follow these instructions to watch UK ITV in the US in about five minutes:

  • Get ExpressVPN
  • Launch ExpressVPN and connect to a UK server
  • Go to the ITV website
  • Enjoy all your favorite UK TV shows

ITV is not available by default outside of the UK.

There are however a few methods you can use to legally watch ITV from the USA or from anywhere outside the UK.

This is what this guide will teach you.

ITV is a very popular UK TV channel that hosts many original British TV shows and movies. If you are in the US then ITV will not be available to you through a regular connection.

What a VPN does is it allows you to switch your IP address to one from the UK, which will unblock ITV on your devide.

Some readers reached out and mentioned that the above method isn’t working.

Rest assured, the above method does indeed work every time but you will have to keep in mind a few things:

1. Before connecting to a VPN server, close the ITV app or browser window where it’s open.
2. AFTER you have closed the browser window/app with ITV, open the VPN app.
3. Connect to a UK server.
4. Open ITV.
**5** – If he above doesn’t work, then repeat steps 1-4, while connecting to a DIFFERENT VPN server than before.

ITV might block and ban certain VPN IP addresses and you just need to try and connect to several servers before you find one that works.

The bottom line is if you do the above you will 100% be able to unblock ITV every single time.

Watch ITV in USA with a VPN

The VPN method is the easiest and most efficient way to get ITV running in the US. A VPN will allow you to switch the apparent location of your device to the UK so that when you visit the ITV website or app it will believe that you are actually located in the UK and allow you access all shows.

First, you will have to find a good VPN that works with the UK and has fast severs capable of streaming HD content. I recommend ExpressVPN.

Once you have signed up for the VPN service you will have to download the app and install it on your device.

Then open the VPN app and choose a UK server and press “Connect”. After around 10 seconds you will be connected to a UK server and your IP will now become a UK IP.

ExpressVPN UK Server

After this you can go to the ITV website and log into your online account, as now the website will believe that you are in the UK.

That’s it.

If you are originally from the US and not visiting from the UK then most likely you don’t have an ITV account just yet. In this case you will have to sign up for one on the ITV website. You can do this now without problems with the VPN app and your UK IP address.

I used to be able to do this. However I can’t get this to work anymore. I’ve tried several UK IP addresses but it says that I’m not in the UK. I have also changed my region on my computer to the UK. Maybe you can suggest something else.

Hi Pamela. It should still be possible to do it with a VPN. I recommend the top ones such as ExpressVPN or NordVPN, as they add new IPs all the time, so if an IP gets banned there is always a new one.

As for the region not being recognized: Sometimes this is because of your browser. If you have accessed ITV before from your US IP, then ITV will know from your browser that you are in the US from the cookies they store in your browser.

In order to fix this you should clear all cookies and browsing history from the browser you are using and only then connect to the VPN and then to ITV.

Let me know if this helps.

I have tried this and whenever I try to play a show I get the message “this video isn’t available right now”. It does this for anything I try to play. Any idea why?
