To get a Florida IP address, connect to a VPN server in Miami. Every large VPN has one.

Tampa and Orlando are rarer, and for streaming any US server does the job. If you’re in Florida and want Pornhub back, you need the opposite of a Florida VPN: a server outside the state (chapter 8).

Updated November 2026: server locations, help pages and prices checked November 5, 2026.
Quick answer:

  • Our picks, in the order of our review scores: ExpressVPN, NordVPN, Surfshark, PIA and CyberGhost. All five have Miami servers, and all but Surfshark sell a dedicated Florida IP.
  • Miami is the one Florida city every VPN has. Tampa: ExpressVPN (a virtual location) and Windscribe. Orlando: PureVPN (table in chapter 1).
  • Free: Windscribe’s free plan includes Miami, with 10 GB of data a month.
  • A Florida IP blacks out Rays, Marlins, Heat and Magic games, won’t get you onto Hard Rock Bet, and shows you Pornhub’s block page (chapter 7).

Miami is the safe default. All ten providers have it, and for eight of them it’s the only Florida city. ExpressVPN’s Tampa location is virtual: the server stands in Miami and carries an IP address registered to Tampa, which websites still read as Florida.

Few providers publish server counts. NordVPN’s server list showed 167 in Miami on November 5, CyberGhost lists 112 and Mullvad runs 6. One working server is all you need.

Are the servers really in Florida? ExpressVPN, NordVPN, PIA, Proton VPN and CyberGhost publish which of their locations are virtual (a server elsewhere that carries an IP address from the named place), and Miami isn’t among them for any of the five. IPVanish labels its virtual locations too and doesn’t label Miami. Surfshark, Mullvad, Windscribe and PureVPN don’t say either way.

Our five picks are ordered by the total scores of our reviews, updated in October 2026. The other five are fine alternatives if you already use one of them.

ExpressVPN: Two Miami Locations and a Virtual Tampa

Price from: $2.99/mo

Available on:

pros

  • Two physical Miami locations, plus Tampa
  • Dedicated IP in Miami
  • 30-day money-back guarantee

Cons

  • Renews at $99.95 a year
  • The Tampa location runs on Miami servers

Visit ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN lists three Florida locations: “USA – Miami”, “USA – Miami – 2” and “USA – Tampa – 1”. The two Miami ones are physical. Tampa sits on its list of virtual locations as “via Miami”, something its own Florida and Tampa pages leave out. You still get a Tampa address, just not a second city’s worth of servers.

A dedicated IP is available in Miami, at $3.99 a month with the 2-year plan. That 2-year Basic plan costs $2.99 a month: $83.72 for the first 28 months, then $99.95 a year. The 12-month plan is $4.99 a month ($74.85 for 15 months). Prices checked November 5, 2026, with a 30-day money-back guarantee for new customers (ExpressVPN review).

NordVPN: 167 Servers in Miami and a Dedicated IP There

Price from: $3.49/mo

Available on:

pros

  • 167 servers in Miami, none virtual
  • Dedicated IP in Miami
  • No-logs policy audited six times

Cons

  • Renews at $139.08 a year
  • Miami is its only Florida city

Visit NordVPN

NordVPN has one Florida city and plenty of capacity there. Its server list showed 167 servers in Miami on November 5, 2026, 78 of them set aside for dedicated IPs, and none flagged as a virtual location. In the app, open United States and pick Miami, or type it into the search.

The dedicated IP in Miami costs $3.69 a month at checkout. The 2-year Basic plan is $3.49 a month: $94.23 for the first 27 months, then $139.08 a year, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. NordVPN’s no-logs policy has been audited six times, and you can connect 10 devices (NordVPN review).

Surfshark: Miami With No Device Limit, No Florida Dedicated IP

Price from: $2.19/mo

Available on:

pros

  • Miami location
  • Unlimited devices
  • 30-day money-back guarantee

Cons

  • No dedicated IP in Florida
  • Renews at $79 a year

Visit Surfshark

Surfshark covers Florida with a single Miami location. Type “Miami” into the app’s search to find it. There’s no limit on devices, which helps if the whole household wants a Florida IP.

If you need a fixed Florida address, look elsewhere. The US cities on Surfshark’s dedicated-IP page are Las Vegas, San Jose, Los Angeles and Dallas. The 2-year Starter plan costs $2.19 a month ($59.13 for the first 27 months), then $79 a year, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. More in our Surfshark review.

Private Internet Access: "US Florida" and a Florida Dedicated IP

Price from: $2.03/mo

Available on:

pros

  • "US Florida" region in Miami
  • Dedicated IP in Florida
  • Renews at the same price

Cons

  • One Florida region, no choice of city
  • Based in the US

Visit PIA

PIA’s app calls its Florida region “US Florida”, and its Miami page tells you to pick that one for a Miami address. PIA’s server list doesn’t mark it as a virtual location.

It’s the cheapest of our five per month, and the only one whose price doesn’t rise at renewal: $2.03 a month, which is $81.20 for 3 years and 4 months, renewing at $81.20 every three years. A dedicated IP is available in “Florida” for $5 a month. PIA is based in the US, which some privacy-minded readers prefer to avoid; its no-logs policy has been audited by Deloitte three times (PIA review).

CyberGhost: 112 Miami Servers and a 45-Day Refund

Price from: $2.19/mo

Available on:

pros

  • 112 servers in Miami
  • 45-day money-back guarantee
  • Dedicated IP in Miami for $2.50 a month

Cons

  • Only 7 devices at once
  • Miami is its only Florida city

Visit CyberGhost

CyberGhost is one of the few providers that publishes server counts per city. Its server list showed 112 in Miami, out of 1,374 in the US, and doesn’t flag Miami as a virtual location.

Its refund window is the longest here: 45 days on the 2-year plan. That plan costs $2.19 a month ($61.32 for 2 years and 4 months), then $61.32 a year. A dedicated IP in Miami costs $2.50 a month with it. Families should note the limit of 7 devices at once (CyberGhost review).

What a Florida IP Address Changes, and What It Doesn't

Start here: a VPN changes the IP address websites see. It doesn’t change your billing address, your account’s home area or your phone’s GPS.
US Netflix, Disney+ or Hulu from abroad
Any US server
Netflix says its library varies by country, not by state. The US server nearest to you will do; it needn’t be in Florida.
A Florida bank or work system that expects the same address
Dedicated Florida IP
An address that is yours alone and doesn’t change between sessions (chapter 10).
Rays, Marlins, Heat or Magic games
A Florida IP makes it worse
MLB.TV and NBA League Pass black out local teams, and a Florida address makes all four local. In Florida, MLB sells Rays.TV and Marlins.TV for those games.
Hard Rock Bet or another betting app
A VPN won’t get you in
Hard Rock Bet, Florida’s only legal online sportsbook, checks your location with geolocation and needs location services on. Offshore sites aren’t legal in Florida.
Pornhub from Florida
You need a server outside Florida
Pornhub has blocked Florida since January 1, 2025. A Florida server gets you the same block page (chapter 8).
Florida privacy rights or the social media age rules
Residency and age, not IP address
Both laws cover Florida residents. A VPN changes neither where you live nor the age on your account.

Streaming is the reason most people look for a US server, and the one where Florida matters least. Netflix says its library “varies by country“, so a server in New York shows the same US catalogue as one in Miami.

Miami has a reputation as the fast door into the US from Latin America. The measurements are less dramatic. In WonderNetwork’s pings from 22 October to 5 November 2026, Bogotá to Miami averaged 70 ms against 73 ms to New York, São Paulo 109 against 110, Mexico City 53 against 57. From London, New York was some 30 ms quicker. If you’re south of the US, Miami is a fine choice; you just won’t feel the difference.

Sports fans are better off without a Florida IP. MLB.TV carries out-of-market games, and since 2026 Rays fans in their home market stream on Rays.TV instead, Marlins fans on Marlins.TV. A Florida address puts you in that home market, and MLB’s terms threaten termination and a $100 charge for getting around a blackout. NBA League Pass blacks out local teams as well, and it finds you “through its IP address or location services“. With a Florida IP, the Heat and the Magic go dark.

Betting apps look past your IP address. “The only online sportsbook operating lawfully in Florida is the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Hard Rock Bet”, says the state’s Gaming Control Commission. Hard Rock Bet “uses geolocation technology“, wants location services on, and takes bets only from over-21s. Its online casino isn’t offered in Florida, and DraftKings and FanDuel run no sportsbook there (our DraftKings guide has the state list).

Nor does the address change your legal status. Florida’s privacy law, the Digital Bill of Rights, protects a “resident of or is domiciled in this state“, and only against companies with more than $1 billion in yearly revenue. The social media law that bars under-14s and needs a parent’s consent for 14- and 15-year-olds also covers residents. A federal appeals court found it likely constitutional on October 14, 2026, so it can be enforced while the case goes on.

Pornhub in Florida: Why a Florida Server Won't Help

Pornhub has refused visitors from Florida since January 1, 2025. Instead of the site, they get a video message saying “we have made the difficult decision to completely disable access to our website in Florida“. In August 2026 it was still blocked, with Pornhub lobbying state leaders to change the rules.

The block is Pornhub’s answer to HB 3, which took effect the same day. Under section 501.1737 of the Florida Statutes, a site where more than a third of the material is harmful to minors must verify that visitors are 18, and offer an anonymous method next to a standard one. The penalties fall on the sites: up to $50,000 per violation, collected by the Attorney General, who sued several adult sites in August and September 2025. The law doesn’t penalize visitors and doesn’t mention VPNs. Using a VPN is legal in Florida.

Here a Florida VPN is the wrong tool. Websites see the location of the server you connect through, so a Miami or Tampa server lands you on the same block page. Connect to a server in a state without such a law instead. New York and California weren’t among the 23 to 25 blocked states in 2026 reports, and every VPN on this page has servers in both; with ExpressVPN, for example, pick “USA – New York”. The list of blocked states keeps growing, so if the block page appears, try another state.

Also turn off your browser’s location permission for the site. It reports where you really are, whatever server you use.

How to Get a Florida IP Address

  1. Choose a VPN with a Florida server (table in chapter 1) and install its app.
  2. Sign in, but don’t press the quick-connect button. It picks the fastest server near you, not Florida.
  3. Open the location list and choose a Florida location. ExpressVPN lists “USA – Miami”, “USA – Miami – 2” and “USA – Tampa – 1” under All Locations. In NordVPN and Proton VPN, open United States and pick Miami, or search for it. In Surfshark, type “Miami” into the search. PIA calls its region “US Florida”. In CyberGhost, expand United States under All servers. Windscribe lists Miami and Tampa under “US East”.
  4. Connect, then check what websites see (below).

To check, open two IP lookup sites, for example MaxMind’s GeoIP demo and ipinfo.io. Both should show a Florida city. Websites can’t see where the server stands; they look your IP address up in a geolocation database, and the databases don’t always agree. MaxMind says its data places US addresses in the right state 80% of the time. If a lookup shows Georgia or another state, disconnect and try a different Florida server.

A site that asks for your browser’s location learns where you really are if you allow it, so say no. An account’s saved address or billing country also stays what it is, whichever server you use.

A Fixed Florida IP Address (Dedicated IP)

Normal VPN servers share each IP address among many users, and you usually get a different one each time you connect. That’s good for privacy and bad for a Florida bank or employer that flags unfamiliar logins, or for a site that has blocked an address because of what other users did. A dedicated IP is an address only you use, and it stays the same.

Where you can get one in Florida, and what it costs on top of the VPN plan (checked November 5, 2026):

  • ExpressVPN: Miami, $3.99 a month with the 2-year plan.
  • NordVPN: Miami, $3.69 a month.
  • PIA: “Florida”, $5 a month.
  • CyberGhost: Miami, $2.50 a month with the 2-year plan.
  • PureVPN: a US dedicated IP for $4.45 a month with the 2-year plan, but its page doesn’t say in which city.

Surfshark’s US dedicated IPs are in Las Vegas, San Jose, Los Angeles and Dallas. Windscribe’s static IPs are in other US cities, IPVanish’s only US dedicated IP is in New York, Proton VPN offers fixed IPs only on its business plans, and Mullvad doesn’t offer them at all.

Two things to weigh before you buy. A dedicated IP still belongs to a VPN company, and NordVPN itself warns that sites “can still detect a dedicated IP as coming from a VPN“. It also ties an address to your account. For logging into your own bank from abroad, that trade-off is usually worth it.

Free Florida VPN Options

Of the free plans we looked at, only one lets you pick a Florida city. Windscribe Free includes two Miami servers, “Vice” and “Snow”, with 10 GB of data a month once you confirm an email address. Its Tampa servers are for paying users. Ten gigabytes covers browsing and the odd video, not regular streaming.

The other well-known free plans give you, at most, a US server you can’t place:

Frequently Asked Questions

Some people found answers to these questions helpful

How do I get a Florida IP address?

Connect to a VPN server in Miami (or Tampa or Orlando, where your VPN has them), then check the result on two IP lookup sites, such as MaxMind's GeoIP demo and ipinfo.io. If one of them shows another state, switch to a different Florida server.

Which VPNs have servers in Florida?

ExpressVPN, NordVPN, Surfshark, PIA, CyberGhost, Proton VPN, Mullvad, Windscribe, IPVanish and PureVPN all have Miami. ExpressVPN (virtual) and Windscribe add Tampa, and PureVPN adds Orlando (table in chapter 1).

Is using a VPN legal in Florida?

Yes. No Florida law bans VPNs. HB 3, the age-verification law behind the Pornhub block, puts its duties on websites, not visitors, and doesn't mention VPNs. Anything illegal stays illegal with a VPN.

Does a Florida VPN unblock Pornhub in Florida?

No. Pornhub blocks Florida, so a Florida server gets you the same block page. You need a server in a state where the site isn't blocked, such as New York or California (chapter 8).

Is there a free VPN with Florida servers?

Windscribe's free plan includes two Miami servers, with 10 GB of data a month once you confirm an email address. Proton VPN Free and hide.me Free have US servers but don't let you choose a Florida one.

Can I watch Rays or Marlins games with a Florida VPN?

Not on MLB.TV. A Florida IP makes both teams local, and MLB.TV blacks out local games. In Florida, MLB sells Rays.TV and Marlins.TV for them.
